Caldwell County needs election workers for every election, and students aged 16 and over may serve as student election clerks. Beyond working the polls there are four other ways to take part: register voters as a Volunteer Deputy Registrar, observe an election as a poll watcher, run for office, or follow the campaign finance reports of the people who do.
Become an election worker
Set up the polling place, check in voters, issue ballots and answer questions. Election workers are appointed and are compensated for training and for hours worked.
Student election clerks
Texas students aged 16 and over may serve — a first-hand look at the democratic process and an addition to a résumé or college application.
Volunteer Deputy Registrar
An official authorised to register voters in the State of Texas, appointed by the county's voter registrar. An appointment runs through the end of the calendar year.
Run for office — candidate filing
Filing for a party primary and filing with a political subdivision are two different processes with two different filing authorities.
Campaign finance reporting
Campaign finance law regulates the amounts and sources of money given or received for political purposes, and requires disclosure of contributions and expenditures.
Poll watchers
A poll watcher observes the conduct of an election on behalf of a candidate, a political party, or a group of registered voters.

Community outreach
The Elections Office runs an outreach programme dedicated to informing and engaging residents about the election process in Caldwell County. It provides public announcements and opportunities for involvement — from voter registration support and educational events to contests. The goal is to promote civic participation, ensure transparency, and make information about elections accessible to every eligible voter.
“I Voted” & “Future Voter” sticker design contest

The Elections Office invited Caldwell County students ages 7–10 to create a “Future Voter” design, and students ages 11–16 to submit an “I Voted” design — public, private and homeschool students alike. Three winning designs became the official stickers handed to voters during early voting and on Election Day, and were shown at the Elections Office, on the county website and Facebook page, and in the local newspaper.
A panel of judges selected the top three designs on creativity, originality, artistic style, and how well the design captured the spirit of Caldwell County. Entries were sent to caldwellec@co.caldwell.tx.us with the entry and consent forms. The rules, entry form, consent form and sticker templates were published in both English and Spanish and are in the document archive.
